Los mejores 5 prospectos para MLB en julio 2, son Dominicanos para el draft del 2 de julio 2014

Dermis Garcia                             Rank: 1
San Pedro, Dominican Republic
Height: 6'2", Weight: 182             Position: SS
DOB: 1/7/1998
Bats: R, Throws: R                      Twitter: @GarciaHernz
Scouting Grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 65 | Run: 35 | Arm: 60 | Field: 45 "Big" is the operative word when discussing Garcia. The 6-foot-2,182-pound shortstop has a big frame, big raw power and a big arm. Some scouts believe he has the best power and the best arm in the entire class of international prospects this year. Not surprisingly, he's also expected to sign for a big bonus.
Evaluators like Garcia's bat speed and his easy power. Some believe he's going to have a plus-arm in the future, and he's been compared to Twins prospect Miguel Sano, a teenage Alex Rodriguez and a young Shawon Dunston. Garcia is not the fastest base runner but he's a smart baseball player and will not run into any outs on the bases.

Nelson Gomez                      Rank: 2
Nigua, Dominican Republic    Height: 6'2", Weight: 219
Position: 3B                         DOB: 10/8/1997
Bats: R, Throws: R
Scouting Grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 60 | Run: 40 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 At 6-foot-2 and close to 220 pounds, Gomez is one of the bigger prospects on the international market this year. He is also one of the best.
Gomez has gained a reputation as a pure hitter and is considered the best hitter in the entire class by some evaluators. Scouts already like his plate discipline, and he is expected to improve in that area once he enters a team's academy and plays in games on a regular basis. Gomez has a knack for squaring up the ball and has also displayed the ability to hit for power to all fields during Dominican Prospect League games.

Adrian Rondon                        Rank: 3
San Pedro, Dominican Rep.      Height: 6'1", Weight: 175
Position: SS                            DOB: 7/7/1998
Bats: R, Throws: R
Scouting Grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 55 | Run: 40 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 Rondon was once considered the overall best player in the 2014 international class, and some scouts are sticking to that assessment. Here's why: the 6-foot-1, 170-pound infielder can do it all. He has fluid actions on offense and defense and never seems out of control. He's expected to stay at shortstop when he signs with a Major League team because he projects to be a solid defender with a decent arm, quick feet and natural baseball instincts. He can also handle himself in the batter's box.

Gilbert Lara                             Rank: 4
San Cristobal, Dominican Rep.  Height: 6'3", Weight: 203
Position: SS                             DOB: 10/30/1997
Bats: R, Throws: R
Scouting Grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 60 | Run: 50 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 Some scouts believe that only Dermis Garcia has more raw power than Lara in this year's class. That same group also says Lara might be a better overall hitter than Garcia.
This is what we know: Lara can appear out of control at times, and he's a max-effort prospect, but he hits balls hard and can hit home runs. The shortstop starred in the multiple prospect leagues in the Dominican Republic and built a reputation as a quiet but focused teenager with a big body and a strong desire to win.
Like many his age, Lara sometimes struggles with breaking balls and offspeed pitches, but his pitch recognition should improve with experience. He crushes fastballs and has noteworthy pull-power. He's a shortstop now but could end up at third base or right field because of his future arm and decent hands.
Lara is based out of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, and is trained by Jaime Ramos. The Brewers are the frontrunner to sign the teenager.

Juan De Leon                             Rank: 5
Santo Domingo, Dominican Rep.
Height: 6'1", Weight: 175
Position: OF                              DOB: 9/13/1997
Bats: R, Throws: R
Scouting Grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 60 | Run: 55 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 There's a belief that DeLeon might have the best all-around combination of tools and body among outfielder in this year's class from the Dominican Republic. Evaluators often use words like "explosive" and "electric" to describe the outfielder's skill set, and some view him as a potential five-tool player. Overall, he's an athletic outfielder that will likely start in center field but could end up in right field because of his size and skills.
DeLeon, who played in the Dominican Prospect League, has also been praised for his above-average bat speed, accurate arm and raw power.
The consensus is that DeLeon does everything well and has a chance to be an impact player. Scouts are keeping an eye on the development of his hit tool because it might dictate how fast he moves through a Minor League system.
DeLeon is based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and is trained by Raul Valera. The Yankees are considered the favorite to land the outfielder.
